The newspaper archive at the University of Oregon returns quite bounty of hits on a "Suplee" search. I wanted to help resolve the AfD issue and thought a good sifting of these through many pairs of eyes could yield a few nuggets of notoriety.

There is a Werberg (Suplee) hot spring. Oregon Dept of Geo. and Mineral Ind. information on it.

The 5 results on the historic newspaper search shows that people of the time would visit the area and stay for the spring and believed it possessed healing properties.
