Except for the page creator, anyone can remove a speedy tag. The next step for those who want the page deleted is to begin an AfD discussion, not edit war over the tag. 331dot (talk) 01:24, 27 July 2016 (UTC)

@331dot: I am concerned that the tag may have not been removed in good faith. Please see a situation where an SD tag was removed by the same editor from an article that went through AfD, was resurrected, and nominated for speedy deletion. K.e.coffman, I moved it out and returned it to the previous version which is the correct syntax for infoboxes. e.g. | website = <!-- {{URL|example.com}} -->. See Template:Infobox company.
