Notability of "Attractions" and Roads Through the Town

edit

Should the references to "Attractions" and to the roads (other than US 17 and SC 544, which seem to have their own wiki links) be kept? Are they notable? There seems to be no other information available on them, and the attractions section, in particular, almost belongs in an AAA tourbook, rather than in an encyclopedia article. I'm not going to make the edits myself, but rather wanted to call attention to these to see whether others agreed that these portions should be removed or shown to be notable. Re-working of history section, possible copyvio removed

edit

This addition had been marked as copyvio. I originally thought that the source of the information was a Wikipedia mirror, and removed the tag. Mapsax (talk · contribs) pointed out that it was potentially more complex than I thought, dug into the history and found some additional sources. I have reworked this section. It now is not flagged up by Earwig as copyvio, though there are still similarities for the demographics section to other sites.

I have not requested revision deletion for the 2007 information, as it is so long ago and I think would be complex to do and involve the loss of edit history.

Hoping this is ok, but if editors with expertise about US local history want to have a look, that would be great. There are still some statements I have not been able to find a source for and have tagged citation needed. Tacyarg (talk) 18:28, 20 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
