Same people ?

I've also seen a reference (in a tourist book) to the Mursi. Suri, Surma, and Mursi are all known for the women's use of lip plates. Also I will copy this discussion to Talk:Suri. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 28 June 2005 19:56 (UTC)

These are all languages of the Southeast Pastoral group of the Surmic languages. Suri and Surma seem to be generic terms; there two subgroups, the Chai and the Tirma, that call themselves 'Surma' and their languages 'Suri'. Mursi is another variety of the same cluster. All of this according to some SIL Sociolinguistic Survey Reports (Girard 2002, Dimmendaal 2002). Other Suris

Comment please add an additonal entry to this, Suris are a tribe of Pashtuns/ Afghans, one of India's most famous rulers was Sher Shah Suri so a separate heading is needed for them

Bulatovich

A Russian explorer, Col. Aleksandr K. Bulatovich visited in or around 1898.

Polio

The tribe was inoculated against polio by a further white expedition to the region, in or around 1970. Perhaps in memory of these white peoples, children paint their faces white, though this is by no means certain.

Russian TV program

A further Russian expedition of filmmakers recently visited the Surma and made a television programme about them.

Dutch TV progran

In 2007, the Dutch television show Groeten Uit De Rimboe and its follow-up Groeten Terug featured a Suri clan being visited by Dutch people and subsequently visiting the Netherlands themselves. Removed here from article by --Bejnar 20:46, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

There is no source linked to the section of "stick fighting". Could this section be possible trolling/vandalism?
