Summation of her final work: Mind Essay
editI left out this quote and instead used the Lachmann's paraphrase of her objective. Maybe others might want to include it. I was on the fence about it.

editI'm a graduate student working with Susanne Langer's ideas for my masters thesis. In getting started with this research project, my summer is devoted to thoroughly reading, internalizing and understanding the main books of Langer's philosophy: Philosophy in a New Key, Feeling and Form, and Mind: An Essay on Human Feeling (all three volumes). I see that Langer already has a page with a decent summary of her ideas, and her most famous book Philosophy in a New Key, also has a small page. I'm proposing (and requesting permission to do it more or less myself) that the page for Susanne Langer be combined with that of Philosophy in a New Key. Additionally, Langer's own page will be expanded to give a more thorough outline of her work, with sections devoted to each of her most important books and a summary tying it all together. Essentially, I'm asking permission (and the trust) to really blow up the page, and make it a high quality encyclopedic entry on Susanne Langer and her ideas. Obviously, I need to read and study the books in order to do this well, so the project would be done over time, ideally being finished mid-late August.
I guess what I'm asking is, I know that Wikipedia is an open encyclopedia and I don't technically need to ask permission, but is anyone going to freak out if these edits take place over the summer? Can I get a sort of unofficial-official green light?
The editing I've done on Wikipedia thus far (over the last 5+ years) has mostly been fixing grammar errors. Occasionally I might re-write a phrase. So this project I'm proposing would be my first major contribution (at least, major to me), and I understand if the more seasoned people respond with some skepticism. I'm open to alterations in the editing scheme (e.g if we want to do it as a few pages rather than one, etc). I just see that I have the opportunity over the course of this summer to contribute something a bit more significant than just editing little things, and I think it would be cool to help out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SesmaramseS88 (talk • contribs) 09:35, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
