editInteresting since when Svans became ethnographic group of the Georgians? Svanetian language is different and separate language. Where is NPOV?--81.7.98.250 08:31, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
The answer is quite simple, since the Svans themselves started to consider themselves to be Georgian. Shall we say couple of milennia ago or so?
I am Svan and I can tell you, it's similar to Georgian. It's similar in some ways but it sounds way more harsh. There are some words that don't have a translation in Svan, so we say it in Georgian but remove the end sounds of that word. Gio31188 (talk) 09:45, 4 November 2018 (UTC)

- 2.2 It is disputable. The upper valleys of Kuban and Baksan it is the native land of turkic Karachay and Malkar People.
