County, Principality, and lordships of Hohengeroldseck, in 1609 AD was no held by the house of Leyen. The house of Leyen, or the altdorf minor noble house, did not buy the "old" Hohengeroldseck Lands until 1803 AD. When they were a puppet state of france. They brought a small central portion of the orginal lands that used to be Hohengeroldseck heartland.
In 1607, Jacob, Kurfürstgrafen von und zu HohenGeroldsack, owned the Hohengeroldseck lands. The House of leyen is a minor noble house, Hohengeroldseck, are a major noble house. What is known in germany, as Uradel. Anceint Nobles roughly. The flag shown for Hohengeroldseck over page, is that of Leyen. The Hohengeroldsecker flag is Red & Yellow strips, with a Quarter in the top corner, Yellow background, with red cross. The Hohengeroldseck Mesuem is in Lahr and seelbach in Baden-Baden, Germany for more information.
On a side note, the House of Leyen, and the House von und zu Hohengeroldseck, Are no relation. The records of the Hohengeroldseck are very complete. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.149.63.11 (talk) 04:44, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
