False information - Middle East subsection
editThe following sentence:
"Sword dancing is widespread in Iran and Turkey today."
Is factually incorrect.
Whomever has written that sentence has made various generalisations that lack any foundation. In particular, Arab culture is conflated with the culture of Iran (Persian literature, Persian mythology, Zoroaster, Persian traditional music, Shahnameh, Persian wedding) and the culture of Turkey. Whilst it is accurate to say that both countries - Turkey and Iran - have a very small Arab minority population, it is flat out false and factually inaccurate to say that "sword dancing is widespread in Iran and Turkey today."
This generalisation aside, no sources (which must be in accordance with Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources, Wikipedia:Verifiability, and Wikipedia:No original research) are offered.
Therefore, I will be deleting the false and misleading sentence. Neutral Observer (talk) 16:34, 26 July 2017 (UTC)
Parikaoba
editA warrior dance from the far northeastern region of Khevsureti. A girl enters, looking for her beloved. He appears only to encounter others, precipitating an energetic battle with sword and shield. When the girl throws down her headress, the men must stop according to tradition, only to renew their battle soon after.[1] --85.100.42.44 (talk) 09:39, 27 June 2010 (UTC)
