1975 Savoy appearance

edit

Others present included Ivan Menzies and other pre-war DC luminaries. Should this be added? I can dig out the relevant issue of The Savoyard, I should think. It is, alas, "original research" to add that Cecil - as the doyenne of the old boys and girls - curtseyed after her speech with ramrod straight back and immense elegance. But she did. And did we cheer her! Tim riley (talk) 20:54, 31 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Probably this should go in the DOC article. Also a footnote in the Trial by Jury article. -- Ssilvers (talk) 21:24, 31 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Dates

edit

Where does the death date come from? The footnote is only relevant to birth (one imagines that such a luminary would at least rate a small obituary).--Piledhigheranddeeper (talk) 17:18, 7 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

These sources (such as they are) say 1983: http://www.jabw.demon.co.uk/yearb.htm ; and http://arts-autographs.co.uk/pageID_7339267.html We haven't been able to find an obit! -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:52, 7 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

German song

edit

Someone added this: In 1934 she sang the original german song "In deine Hände leg ich mein ganzes Glück" with original words & musik by Willi Kollo and with English lyric by Jimmy Kennedy "My heart was sleeping until you came to me".

Is there a reference? Why is it notable? -- Ssilvers (talk) 20:48, 18 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
