Recent revisions to this page to add a #REDIRECT to the article on the London Philharmonic Orchestra
editI have noticed recently (May, 2024) several edits and reversions of those edits to this article. The edits center on the addition (and subsequent removal) of a #REDIRECT to the article on the London Philharmonic Orchestra. The net effect of adding the #REDIRECT is for this article (on the Symphonic Music of Yes album) to no longer be visible on Wikipedia.
I am adding this talk section to invite other editors to share opinions on whether the #REDIRECT edit is appropriate, and if not, what to do about it. Thank you. Yesfan001 (talk) 17:08, 3 June 2024 (UTC)
Redirect or article?
editShould this article be a full article about the album "Symphonic Music of Yes", or should it be just a #REDIRECT to the article about the London Philharmonic Orchestra? Yesfan001 (talk) 14:32, 1 October 2024 (UTC)
- Invalid RFC; wrong process. I'm removing the RfC tag from this. Whether a redirect should stop existing, be retargeted, or be redeveloped into an article is a matter for WP:RFD process, not WP:RFC process. And for a question like this, it need not be such a discussion at all: if you think you can develop a properly encyclopedic article about the album (see WP:NALBUM), then just do it; no "permission" is required. — SMcCandlish ☏ ¢ 😼 17:04, 1 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you, SMcCandlish, for your very helpful feedback. I'm sorry I put this request for discussion in the wrong area. I wasn't aware of the RfD process.
- I will take your last statement as a validation that the original article ought to continue to exist and should not be replaced by a #REDIRECT to another article. Thank you. Yesfan001 (talk) 17:30, 1 October 2024 (UTC)
