We need a Syndicate 3. Discuss. Even a mod would be great.

Isometric Projection?

edit

How can Syndicate Wars use an isometric projection if it uses a true 3D-engine?

The default camera views are isometric --larsinio 17:12, 31 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
Also, when classifying computer game graphics, the term 'isometric' isn't used as strictly as in geometry. The original Syndicate is a fairly typical example of 'isometric' graphics, even though the Z axis is scaled by 1/2 (IIRC). 86.59.11.23 (talk) 14:16, 10 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
The default camera in SW is not isometric. However, the player can easily switch to isometric using the "f" key.

SW can have normal isometric view despite being a 3D game, because it's fully software rendered. With that, everything is possible. For example, the rendering engine still accesses instances of in-game objects to check their properties while in rasterization stage. And drawlist is not created until the stage of Primitive Assembly. And depth buffer is completely skipped.

Past tense?

edit

I think we should use present tense instead of past tense. Most of the article should be writen in present tense with past tense used only where it is really needed. See: Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style#Tenses--analoguedragon 14:25, 1 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Agreed, I'll fix this. Rbarreira 19:14, 4 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Split and make new articles

edit

We need to create and lengthen the articles for the individual pages; I started with Syndicate Wars already, but it needs a lot more detail --larsinio

Agreed. That's why I reformatted the series overview article. Does anyone have any good sources for information on American Revolt? Jacoplane 17:39, 2 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
I did some quick googling and found this page which has screenshots and lengthy description --larsinio 18:15, 2 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Cooper?

edit

I think there should be an article or maybe separate section in this article that discusses Cooper and his involvement in the game.

Fair use rationale for Image:Syndicate.png

edit

Image:Syndicate.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Source for PS2 Game Concept Art

edit

Hi all. Does anyone know of a good source for the concept art Mike Man released of Bullfrog's PS2 Syndicate project? Looks like the Kotaku article ([1]) is now gone, and the only remaining source I see is the Syndicate Wiki ([2]), which wouldn't really be acceptable for a citation. It'd be great to get these pieces reachable from within the article. IAmTheNeil (talk) 14:29, 27 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
