like i said on noitora's talk page...as soon as we see a zanpakuto i'm gonna create an article for the espada. Kaien is a little wierd but i put links from arroniro to kaien too. It's short right now but it'll grow quick probably...i added stuff from spoilers to make it longer. normally i would wait but the article needs more girth IMO. if anyone wonders where its from http://mangahelpers.com/forum/index.php?topic=15693.15 someone pulled a spoiler off the same site that had the spoiler pics so its most likely real. --Grimjaw 20:05, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
Name
editIs it official that his name is Zaera-Polo Grantz? The first name seems like a very illogical transliteration for Zaeruaporo. At the very least, it should be something-Apollo. -- Ynhockey (Talk) 08:20, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- People decided for Zaera-Polo because this is a real name of an... architect, I think (and all the Espada, or the majorit, have names based on architects). But, until now, not a single Arrancar had a name officialy romanized like the name that served as base, so, in my opinion, the Arrancar name can be anything but Zaera-Polo. - Access Timeco 14:42, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- i thought his name was zaeru-apollo myself, but i kept the translation from the hollows in bleach page when i wrote this. i'll give these people the benefit of the doubt that they know what their talking about since i don't know japanese. --Grimjaw 18:11, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
- It's still pretty illogical given the fact that the katakana spells "Zaerua", with the extra "ru". If it were Zaera, then that would also be the katakana. This was also the case with Arroniro Arleri, it was discussed that his first name might be "Arnilo", but the extra "ro" contradicted it. Let's just wait for Kubo Tite to put him in a cover page.--Chemicalist 14:53, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

FYI it seems like the new raw establishes his name as Szayl Aporro Grantz. Personally, this and Grimmjow's new romanization have really got me confused. The architect thing is seemingly out the window and Grimmjow's isn't even correct German. Eh... Gdo01 16:21, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, it's Szayel. The e is behind the "c" from ".com" in Jojohot's image. - Access Timeco 16:51, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
Why is it Szayel-space-Aporro as opposed to Szayelaporro (other than adding to the awkwardness of the name)? There's no '・' there in the original Japanese... --Pentasyllabic 22:04, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- 'Cause if it was together, the L and the A would fuse in a LA, but the kana says it is: ZaERuAPoRo and not ZaERaPoRo. - Access Timeco 22:45, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

way he draws the sword
edithe could fight with a left handed, backward grip. he could be right handed and just did that this one time; he could have done it just cuz he doesn't take renji seriously. there are innumerable reasons he could have done that...i suggest waiting before declaring he always does that. --Grimjaw 01:58, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
Released Zanpakuto
editIf this kid is illfort's brother wouldn't his release be a bull.
- not necissarily --Grimjaw 18:23, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- No reason to think that. The arrancar don't even have living sword spirits, so their powers shouldn't be related. Kubo's usually good at making the different swords all be original as well. --tjstrf talk 18:44, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

From a number of spoilers I've read, it appears the name of his Release is Fornicarus, which translates into Slut Queen (or something to that effect). Of course, I've no idea how reliable it is —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.14.5.82 (talk) 14:10, August 24, 2007 (UTC)
The real name of his zanpakuto is fornicarás because fornicarus has no meaning in Spanish —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.153.197.193 (talk) 09:12, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
Name use
editHis name is used as Szayel or Szayel Aporro in the article. For consistency's sake, which one do we use? Sephiroth BCR 23:17, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- Don't both work? The easiest to use would really be Grantz, but the existence of his brother rather throws that option off by being ambiguous. --tjstrf talk 23:20, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- I'm aware that both are correct, but it's annoying to see the inconsistency. Humor me. Sephiroth BCR 23:28, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- Aporro may be his middle name. After all, we know very little about the Arrancar; they're hollows who took off their masks, follow the strongest, and can return to their previous forms. Then again, He's constantly referred to as Szayel Aporro in the manga chapters, so that's probably the way to go —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.14.5.82 (talk) 14:04, August 24, 2007 (UTC)
It's a double name like Kelly-Anne or Mary-Jane. His name is Szayel-Apollo Grantz so his name is Szayel-Apollo but due to Bleach characters and their lack of respect for anyone they just call him Szayel because they as characters don't care. D,D.R.U.S.(69.124.11.221 01:26, 25 August 2007 (UTC))
Release command and... action?
editThe current wording on Szayel's zanpakuto confuses me. As with all other shinigami and arrancar, he has a release command he must call out before his zanpakuto is released. However, he apparently also releases his sword by swallowing his zanpakuto. Now, what confuses me is, does its release work both ways? Must he call out the command before swallowing it? Are we wrong? // DecaimientoPoético 21:32, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
- The Zanpakuto of an Arrancar is a part of themselves. Perhaps for him, the sword is the source of the liquid (or something to that effect). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.14.5.82 (talk) 21:48, August 24, 2007 (UTC)
I'm more confused with the name. It can't be Fornicarus due to the spanish theme. There's no way a "U" have a sound that fits the kana (forunicarasu) in spanish. I'm inclined to think it is Fornicarás (you will fornicate), but I hope not :/ - Access Timeco 21:58, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
Okay, what the heck?
editWhy does the name of Szayel's Zanpakuto keep changing on this page? First it said "The Lewd Queen" now it says "The Adulterous Cocubine"! is there NO PROPER translation for this? RedEyesMetal 19:42, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
- Lews queen seems about right, although I changed it to lewd evil princess, which I think is the most accurate literal translation. -- Ynhockey (Talk) 20:12, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
- Well, Concubine is a better translation for 妃 than "Princess", IMO. While it technically CAN mean princess, it's very unlikely because 妃 was used instead of 姬, which is usually the "word of choice" for writing "Princess". Also, while 邪淫 can indeed be translated as "lewd", I feel like "adulterous" fits better, because the Spanish refers specifically to fornication rather than lewdry. 68.211.139.47 18:56, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
- Let's just say the translation's a royal b*tch.
- By the way, when the scanlations were coming out for 288, some groups chose to use Fornicarus rather than Fornicarás. I'm not sure which is more accurate to how it was written in kana, but the former is most definitely better grammar. Which is to say, it's actually a noun (in Latin and older Spanish), rather than "you will fornicate", which makes no sense as a name, or the more formally worded "the Spanish second person future indicative tense of fornicate", which is quite the mouthful to read. If both are equally accurate to the raw, could we use Fornicarus instead? (Also, before somebody else points it out, yes I realize the double entendre in linking to Spanish conjugation, and no, it was not intentional.) --tjstrf talk 07:53, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- Fornicarus would just match the kana if it was in English, since the kana is Fo-Ru-Ni-Ka-Ra-Su. In Spanish (and latin), there is no way a Ru sound like "Ra". So the kana, if was Fornicarus, would be Fo-Ru-Ni-Ka-Ru-Su. - Access Timeco 20:33, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
How about we wait until he releases it in the show?88.110.55.58 (talk) 23:18, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
Resurrected Fornicarás
editThe "cloning" powers of Grantz's liquid aren't explained very well. We should probably clarify how created a bunch of duplicates of your opponent that copy his movements could possibly be to your advantage.—Loveはドコ? (talk • contribs) 05:00, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

This has been bugging me for a while now. Has anyone else noticed the two minion that blocked Ishida's and Renji's attacks in Chapter 293 have actually been lying on the ground since he released his sword? Technically, that means that they're not Fraccion but actually a part of his released form and his real body. On page 03 of Chapter 293, you can see them lying behind him, along with twisting tentacles and i think some spikes. I'm not quite sure what the spikes are from, but maybe once the anime gets to that part we'll be able to see what it is better. Basically, I'm requesting that we add these minion to Fornicaras as weapons used for defense and attacking so Szayel doesn't have to himself. (CP9Zebra 16:18, 10 November 2007 (UTC))
- Actually, page 14 of chapter 288 shows them as well, immediately after he releases. He seems to enjoy leaning on those horns, or just putting his hands there absentmindedly. I'm not sure what they are. Kyouraku-taichou (talk) 05:12, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
It reminds me of the arms of a throne... I think he enjoys recreating the sensation of sitting on one. Also, Mayuri is a sick bastard. 88.110.55.58 (talk) 23:20, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
If its ok with anyone, I'm going to add the part about the two minions, because so far, there is nothing listed about them. If anyone disagrees with me, I would like them to provide a decent reason for it. And yes, Mayuri is a sick bastard. I hope he dies someday. CP9Zebra (talk) 18:18, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
Anime Appearence?
editWill Szayel Aporro Grantz ever get an Anime appearence? The same goes to Nnoitra and Nel Tu. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.45.102.26 (talk) 07:50, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
- Of course...well Nnoitra got his appearance ( well, a back view more like it) and we are pretty sure Ichigo already bashed into Hueco Mundo, so I suppose another 20 episodes will feature Szayel, Nnoitra and Nell. --Hanaichi 09:13, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Nemu's "death"
editEven though it looks like he did kill her when he came out of her mouth, I think we should wait until future chapters clarify for certain that she has died before we add that into the article. Remember that she can, as an artificial being, survive "otherwise fatal injuries", so until we get more information her "death" shouldn't be set in stone on this page. --HayashiKun (talk) 05:30, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

Szayel's tattooed number ...
editI believe I have found where his number is tattooed at. We all it cant be on his body due to BLEACH chpater here LINK REMOVED. So I thought to myslef is it on one of his legs. Since his lower attire was never burnt or destroyed after Uryuu cool "Sprenger" technique. Then I remember when he released his zanpakuto "Fornicarus" that the strange tattoo appeared on his left eye. LINK REMOVED and I guessed eight liquid things come from his eyes. So i said that is his tattoo lolz. Im saying that im right its just my guess.

Merger
editWhile he hasn't been killed off, merging to List of Bleach hollows still would be appropriate. At best, Mayuri takes him off for experimentation and we get a few tidbits out of that. At worst, he dies next chapter. Really though, this article will never survive an AfD, especially since any English media isn't even remotely close to this part of the storyline yet.
