I removed 'the tallest' [known living kauri]. Though often repeated, this isn't true. For example 'Hokianga' in the Omahuta Forest, and Tairua 3 in the Coromandel are taller.
I have a number of resources to contribute here:
- A video of the forest, including specific coverage of Tane.
- A geocache right there (w/ lots of useful information), as well as at two other nearby locations of relevance.
I therefore propose the following inclusions under external links:
- God of the Forest - A Faber Optimé geocache at Tāne Mahuta.
- Northland Secrets Early Rizers Mix - A short Faber Optimé YouTube film about Tāne Mahuta and the Northland region.

- Look Out Waipoua! - A nearby Faber Optimé geocache in the Waipoua Forest.
- Te Matua Ngahere - A nearby Faber Optimé geocache at Te Matua Ngahere.

- Oppose. As has been explained to you by several people at User talk:Faber Optimé, you should not be linking to your own work, and all those who have reviewed your videos to date appear to have agreed that they are not suitable as links. Geocaching links are also not suitable.-gadfium 20:21, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

editI have added a note to highlight that all the measurements recorded were taken in 1971. Oldtreeman (talk) 22:17, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
