Fair use rationale for Image:Serbian T55H upgrade.JPG

edit

Image:Serbian T55H upgrade.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

1 captured by the Muslims. So what? Additionally, the sources do not explicitly tell that. --TheFEARgod (Ч) 19:33, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, right. It's such any inexplicit way to say a fact about a vehicle using sentences like this:
"Bosnian-Serb hybrid vehicle consisting of the M18 hellcat turret placed on T-55 hulls that were used for mechanic training before the war. At least one was captured by Bosnia Muslims."
Really inexplicit... If you don't believe me then please use the direct link to the page about the said variant that I'm about to give you.
http://www.jedsite.info/tanks-tango/tango-numbers-su/t-55_series/m18-turret/m18td-intro.html
But really if I would say something like "It was most probably also used by Bosnian Muslims" then you could say that I'm being inexplicit. But here you have a sentence which clearly states that at least one of these vehicles was captured either if it was just one or ten. - SuperTank17 (talk) 20:53, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
170 T-34s, T-55s, M60A3s and AMX-30s were in service in early 2001. 192 T-34s, T-54s T-55s, M60A3s, M-84s and AMX-30s were in service in early 2003
Is it the place for a detailled list of the Bosnian army tanks ? 91.139.171.169 (talk) 15:18, 8 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.

Russian use of T-54s & T-55s in Ukraine

edit

Oryx (website) at this writing reports that Russian has lost 1 T-54-3M (a subvariant not identified in the article's entry on the T54-3) and 2 T-55As (in addition to two "Unknown T-54/55" tanks) in the invasion of Ukraine. The https://oryxspioenkop.com/2022/02/attack-on-europe-documenting-equipment.html page changes constantly but shows every identified lost tank in a link so I think the implication in Russia's entry as an operator that the service of Russian T-54/5s in Ukraine is only a rumor should be corrected. 71.105.190.227 (talk) 06:35, 28 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
