This article is totally screwed up TType was a Turbo Buick package Idiot
The T-Type was not a "line" as the article mentions. It was a trim package available for the Buick Regal. Also, the "T" does not stand for Turbo, it stands for Touring. Additionally, there were no Regal T-Types in 1987, instead they were called Regal T with a single "T" badge on the front fender. Again, not all these cars were turbo models, and throughout the years these badges/names were also applied to other models.
Detailed info on all the Buick turbo cars can be found here: www.gnttype.org
Yep, thats correct
editThe T in T type did not mean turbo. Matter of fact, MOST of the t types werent turbo at all. And Im very sure the skylark/somerset didnt get a turbo, OR a manual transmission. they were luxury cars, not performance cars. Though the skyhawk maybe. And the GNX did not solidify the regal in nascar. That timeline is opposite. The regal had already been knee deep in nascar. in fact, it was just the opposite. By the time the gnx was being produced, the 81-87 g body regal was being phased out of nascar. And I cant remember, but I thought the 't type' emblem always appeared together, until 87, where it was only the T by itself. And the regal somerset not only was NOT a 'downsized' regal (it IS a regal, only with an ugly two tone paint option) it didnt get any 't type treatment' as the somerset was ALREADY a package added onto a buick regal. I believe maybe 82 it was? "introduced in 1982, became an instant success, and it inspired the company to extend its T-Type line to its other mid-size offering, " Is wrong. It was NOT an instant success. In fact it was a huge dud lol. And how could it inspire a company to extend its t type package to other cars, when the 82 grand national wasnt even a t type to begin with?? it was a regal with the GN package, not a t type regal. In fact, there was not a single 't type' thing about it. Just some points i felt i needed to highlight. :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.246.17.173 (talk) 06:57, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
