Rebrand or Re-imagining?
editNot too sure how to approach this...
In reference to the edit User:Mrschimpf by I don't think the Hillsong Channel counts as a rebrand of The Church Channel. TCC carried televised services from churches submitted by any church, the Hillsong channel is very different to what The Church Channel was in terms of content, it's totally different except for the filler content (partner content) from TBN.
- Reimagining isn't a common television industry term; re-branding is used when a channel changes their format considerably (re-imaging can also be used just as well). Nate • (chatter) 09:42, 2 June 2016 (UTC)
- Understood, no worries L32007 (talk) 01:14, 3 June 2016 (UTC)

Programming
editI think it's a good idea to keep the list of current original programming that currently air on the Hillsong Channel. I don't know why someone got rid of the list of programming. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Millejoe001 (talk • contribs) 07:43, 28 December 2017 (UTC)
- The list was removed because it contained almost entirely non notable programs -- Whats new?(talk) 01:36, 29 December 2017 (UTC)
Hillsong Channel and TBN Inspire are different!
editI am currently watching the online streams for both channels. The content is different. Hillsong Channel is airing a Hillsong Conference 2018 highlight, while TBN Inspire is airing a program about Israel. Furthermore, almost every reference to Hillsong is removed from Watch TBN. The results I see are from TBN in-house programming, not Hillsong programming.
Since both channels are distinct and air distinct programming, I believe it is best to create one article per channel. Hillsong can still be mentioned on TBN Inspire for its history of over-the-air carriage. --LABcrabs (talk) 17:39, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
- I have checked it again now, and both channels are airing the same Joseph Prince programming. Only the logo at the top right changes. The live streaming technology also appears to be identical, with one difference: Hillsong Channel is limited to 720p, while TBN Inspire broadcasts at up to 1080p. I will update the article once I figure out the similarities and differences between both channels. --LABcrabs (talk) 00:51, 9 March 2022 (UTC)
Splitting proposal
editI propose that portions related to Hillsong Channel be split into a separate page called Hillsong Channel. As I explain in my comment above, Hillsong Channel and TBN Inspire broadcast different programming at many given times, but partner programming such as Joseph Prince may air on both channels simultaneously. They also broadcast at different resolutions. The Church Channel and TBN Inspire can remain on the TBN Inspire article, with a brief mention of Hillsong Channel formerly being broadcast over the air. The article for Hillsong Channel can cover the current iteration, as well as the channel's history.
For reference, here are links to live streams:
- TBN Inspire: https://watch.tbn.org/live-channels/videos/tbn-inspire (1080p)
- Hillsong Channel: https://now.hillsongchannel.com/preaching/videos/hillsong-channel-live (720p)
Thank you. --LABcrabs (talk) 19:16, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
- Comment Actually it seems that the rename was US-only, and in Australia and elsewhere, it remains Hillsong Channel. So I do think some kind of split is needed, but that it needs to be clarified the TBNI rename only affected its American operation. Nate • (chatter) 02:14, 29 March 2022 (UTC)
- Well, we had a new twist to this issue: apparently Hillsong Channel AU is also becoming TBN Inspire, amid the controversy involving their senior pastor. ViperSnake151 Talk 01:41, 15 April 2022 (UTC)
Simple: Split the portions about the Australian TV channel into Hillsong Channel (Australian TV channel) (to be moved to TBN Inspire (Australian TV channel) when the rebrand occurs), and turn this article about one about the U.S. TV channel.I'll start working on a minor restructure of the article so, once the consensus is reached, the article split is going easy. JSH-alive/talk/cont/mail 08:11, 15 April 2022 (UTC)- I happened to discover (what should I call it?) an amateur found footage (or a cam-rip, I don't know) of a scrolling ticker informing that a version of Hillsong Channel available in the Philippines (at least) was to be 'replaced' by TBN Inspire starting 6 April 2022, along with a post on Twitter dated around 11 April confirming the change of the version on APStar 7 satellite, all predating the Australian version's rebrand.
Guess I'll revise this article later in the day (It's overnight here, and I need to get some sleep). JSH-alive/talk/cont/mail 18:46, 29 April 2022 (UTC)
- Apparently, the aforementioned version of Hillsong Channel/TBN Inspire available in the Philippines (and the rest of Asia through satellite) is operated by TBN Asia, which is based in the Philippines, and one available in Australia (as well as the rest of South Pacific) is operated by TBN Pacific, which is based in Australia.
The Hillsong Channel website and the streaming service are still alive, although the live stream of the linear counterpart is dead.
So, let's scratch my earlier suggestion, and I will recommend that Hillsong Channel be redirected to Hillsong Church#Hillsong Channel. JSH-alive/talk/cont/mail 17:09, 6 May 2022 (UTC)
