I am not sure that TI Group (once one of the UK's largest tubes businesses) should have been moved without a discussion. Based on WP:MOVE a proposed move template should have been applied first. All the good material about the structure prior to acquisition by Smiths seems to have been deleted. It seems to me that TI Automotive was only a modest part of the Group at the time of acquisition by Smiths. Would it not be better to start a new article on the automotive business? Comments welcome. TI Automotive is the company/brand that resulted from the demerging of Smiths from the TI Group. TI Automotive is the same company as TI Group, only rebranded/renamed after the demerger. The company history from 1919 to 2000 remains on the page and was updated from the demerger from Smiths to the present day. The page has been updated to reflect TI Automotive's current company structure and technologies. Amboyreb (talk) 14:11, 1 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
- I am not sure this is right. I have done a search at Companies House and established that TI Group is still seperately registered C/O Smith's Group plc in London. Conversely it appears that TI Automotive was newly formed shortly before the demerger from Smith's Group. The fact remains that all this should have been checked out before the page was moved. - From what I can tell the main TI Group businesses (John Crane, Bundy and Dowty) became fully integrated into Smiths Group and the automotive division (including elements of Bundy) was spun off. I would therefore propose we move the TI Group material back to TI Group and start a new article on TI Automotive. Any objections? Dormskirk (talk) 09:24, 2 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
- Now completed. Dormskirk (talk) 14:29, 3 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
