Origin of TTRPG
editWho first printed TTRPG? When was it vernacular? It wasn't the 80s or 90s when they were just called RPGs. If I had to guess I'd say near 2010. Somewhere when the children who were raised on video RPGs and thought those were the only RPGs and were informed that RPGs exist that you play on a table top. Those children grow up, get jobs reviewing games and instead of recognizing that videogame RPGs are the mentally deficient illegitimate child of RPGs that really only simulate the experience, the bs call videogames RPGs and tag the original TTRPG, instead of calling the other RPSs. 2601:600:8F81:2AC0:61C0:BD61:3CED:A85A (talk) 08:37, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
"Publishers and companies" needs to be changed
editThe "Publishers and companies" section references companies that have nothing to do with table top role-playing, making it irrelevant to the article. This article is about tabletop role-playing specifically so talking about Genshin Impact is not relevant to this article. Oshispring (talk) 00:28, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
- The version of 30th January 2024 for that section needs to be reinstated. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Tabletop_role-playing_game&diff=next&oldid=1200823189 --Jonas kork (talk) 16:35, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
- I agree and have reverted the section to the 30th January 2024 version. I have notified the editor who changed it if they wish to discuss it further. Tohehe (talk) 15:56, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
Merger proposal
editI propose merging Role-playing game system into this article. The article has 3 issue flags. Most importantly, it only contains material from one source, a book from 13 years ago, and the information is very out of date. Tabletop role-playing game already has an up-to-date and well-sourced section on game systems, making Role-playing game system obsolete. I recommend merging the material from Role-playing game system into the History section of Tabletop role-playing game. – Nodicenomasters (talk) 02:02, 29 September 2024 (UTC)
- It looks like there are no objections to this merge. To avoid bloating this page with extremely detailed content, I am merging the sourced historical content from Role-playing game system into History of role-playing games. Nodicenomasters (talk) 17:21, 1 October 2024 (UTC)
