His name looks like Japanese, but there is no mention of it anywhere in the article. Probably his ancestors might have migrated to Brazil a few generations back. This is purely my guess based on his name. It would be good if somebody finds a reference to know his family background better. - Ravichandra (talk) 05:19, 13 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
I looked around quite a bit, in both English and Portuguese however was unable to find any information regarding his Ancestry, however it's pretty clear that he has some Japanese ancestry.
There could be something written in Books however I do not have a good way of searching in those, if someone else does and is willing to look further into his ancestry that would be great. UfoTheUfo (talk) 17:09, 13 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Despite the note to editors "!-- Do not revert.--", I have reverted "born 1950" as this is unsourced, also unsourced was "aged 71–72". All the RS that I have found give his age at death as 71, and none of them claim specifically a 1950 birth year. Davidships (talk) 14:31, 14 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
I agree with this approach. This is how I had it in the beginning. That said, if someone can help get the date of birth / any additional biographical details from credible sources that is always welcome. RIP Mr Takahashi. Ktin (talk) 14:36, 14 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hey there, I reached out to RNP (The Brazilian National Research and Education Network) via Email, I got a response confirming the date 16 December 1950, I'm not sure if I can reference an email as a source but I have gone ahead and made the changes. Please let me know if you can find out how I can properly add a reference for that (if I can)

@Abandonee: I don't think it would make sense to cite an email because private correspondence is not necessarily verifiable. If they could post Takahashi's birthdate on their website as part of a bio, or link to a source for his birthdate, that would work. Yeeno (talk) 23:40, 12 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
