editI am considering whether it is worth mentioning the TIA's latest initiative, in which they assert that Taiwan is a territory of the United States according to the San Francisco Peace Treaty. Their intention is to take this matter to the US legal system. I think this is something that might be somewhat interesting to English-language readers. 24.124.61.165 17:41, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Go ahead. I think this is related to the Taiwan Defense Alliance as well, but I am not sure. – Kaihsu 23:15, 2005 Jun 8 (UTC)
Lin v USA
editThere is a case before the US District Court for the District of Columbia, Roger C. S. Lin et al. v USA Civil Action No. 06-1825 (RMC), which web reports say are brought in the name of Taiwan Defense Alliance and a certain "Taiwan Nation Party" (with the same Han character name 建國黨). I wonder if it is related? – Kaihsu 09:15, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Newly created party with the same name
editThis year in May, 2015 a new party with the same English name "Taiwan Independence Party" but different Chinese name "台灣獨立黨" and abbreviation "TIP" has been formed [1]. Should anything be done about this article?
Both English names listed on this article is correct:
- "Taiwan National Party" is referenced in Dr. Roger C. S. Lin et al. v USA [2].
- "Taiwan Independence Party" is referenced in this news article [3].
Another point worth noting is that sometimes "Taiwan independence party" is used as a term meaning "a party in support of the independence of Taiwan" [4]. -- Jinbobo (talk) 14:13, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
