Comparison to other Tai-series placenames
edit@Szqecs: I'm deleting the sentence you recently added to the lead for several reasons.
Taixi is the smallest and least well known place in Taiwan that is named after a cardinal direction (W), the others being Taipei for N, Tainan for S, Taitung for E, Taichung for center.
- "Smallest" is inaccurate: compare to Xianxi, which is also "named after a cardinal direction."
- "Least well known" is unsourced / original research.
- "Center" is not generally considered a cardinal direction.
