edit---
I have read and heard that tango argentino is used throughout the world in management training, marriage counselling, boarding schools specialising in music etc. Can anyone provide specific examples?
I was surprised to read that Tango was code for Terrorist, but when I followed the link there was no mention of this on the linked Terrorism page. Can someone provide some source for this, or further information? - jtauber

- Ehh, seems like we should let the military speak for the military, and not take a German SWAT guide's word for it. Tango = target. 75.81.181.159 (talk) 09:17, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Tidying page
editThis page has ballooned a bit like most DAB pages do over time. I'm pruning it down in line with Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages):
- Removing all information not needed for disambiguation
- Un-linking all words that do not disambiguate Tango
- Removing final punctuation from dab list items
- Removed Tangos - anyone trying to link specifically to Tangos as opposed to Tango would not make the mistake of linking Tango. And Tango (dance) links to Tangos anyway
- Removed Tango - code word in Tom Clancy fiction link as it was a self-link to this same page
- Removed 'T' in phonetic alphabet link as there is no relevant article nor will there ever likely be an article for specific code words in the NATO phonetic alphabet. Nor do I expect to find any articles linking that meaning though if I find any during disambiguation I'll replace it
I'm about to disambiguate all the Tango links and I may make more changes after I see where all the links are pointing. If anyone disagrees with any of my deletions, feel free to restore but please leave a note here explaining why.

Propose
editI think this page whould be moved to Tango (disambiguation), and changed to a redirect to Tango music, which is actually the name source of (I think) all the things listed here. Mariano(t/c) 06:44, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
Consolidate and organize
editIt seems that there are too many tango entries going around: Tango (dance), Argentine Tango, Tango music and History of Tango have a lot of overlap and not enough clear distinction between them. None of them seem to be the main historical/chronological article that one would expect, and they are still weighed by the subjective knowledge of the writers in each article, without any reference whatsoever to the standard bibliography. --BlopaGotan (talk) 03:30, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Argentine tango
editIn Argentina there were tango before than 1905, and wasn't the same in Uruguay. For this reason, I deleted "Tango is originl from Argentina and Uruguay", this isn't true. --El rrienseolava (talk) 10:03, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

- The UNESCO cite above is the reason for both countries being given credit. The cite appears in the relevant tango pages themselves, not here on this disambiguation page. Binksternet (talk) 15:54, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
