editTo respond to the speedy delete tag: The Taos Society of Artists was historically significant in the growth of Taos New Mexico as an internationally known center for art. It's also an important link among a number of American western artists of the period. A quick survey of its ghits shows multiple articles and books written about the topic. I see that the A7 guideline says, "to avoid speedy deletion an article does not have to prove that its subject is notable, just give a reasonable indication of why it might be notable". --Lockley (talk) 00:53, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

Removed info, no ref
editI removed the following because it isn't commonly mentioned with the TSA, but if someone can find the text, here's info that was previosly in the article:
"Contemporary evidence, notably in the letters of Marsden Hartley who arrived in 1918, indicate some tension between members of the Society, and the relative newcomer modernists in the social orbit of Mabel Dodge Luhan."--CaroleHenson (talk) 04:20, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
