T12 Targa Florio

The Czech sources I encountered put it as T12, although it debuted before T12 was on market. The changes from the production version (either T11 or T12) are massive, so maybe that is behind the issue of T11/T12. According to the Dutch source I linked above, the "T12 Targa Florio" is a replica that is made from a conventional T12. It differs from the real T11 TF in the front axle, engine etc. See how I have formulated it in the Finnish T11 article (I think you get a clue by help of Google Translate).
Also I have been wondering why do so many sources refer to "T12 Targa Florio". I was wondering it because of the year of production, as you pointed out above. Then I found this source and the description was convincing at least to me, so I used it in the Finnish T11 article. --Gwafton (talk) 09:42, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
I have in my hand book Tatra - Passenger Cars, Karel Rosenkranz, TATRA, a. s., 2007. He distinguishes Tatra 11 "racecar" from 1925 and Tatra 12 Targa Florio from 1925. Most data are the same, however
  • T11 had tire size 740x100/740x100; T12 had 710x110/710x115
  • T11 tank volume 32l; T12 tank volume 60l
  • t11 weight 570kg; t12 weight 560kg
  • t11 max speed 120km/h; t12 max speed 127km/h

Thanks for the info. If it is written so detailed on a such book, I consider it as a more reliable source. Could you give the ISBN code of the book? Probably should get it to my bookshelf somehow. Unfortunately, the only Tatra books I have are Radomír Zavadil's Tatra Military vehicles vol 2 and 3. You can't find such info there.
Strange that a such enthusists' website contains a such error. Usually I regard such web pages much more reliable and accurate than for example vintage car magazines, because the enthusists usually have good and accurate literature and data about their vehicles. --Gwafton (talk) 22:47, 1 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
It seems that this guy made A LOT searching in Tatra company archives (and Tatra is the publisher, so I guess he could do whatever he wanted there). The gallery of NW vehicles which is in the book is unbelieveable, so many and very high quality. I wouldn't be angry on anybody for having it wrong, especially if they couldn't get to archives.
ISBN 978-80-239-9876-4 (I just got it yesterday from library, don't know if it is still on market, they may have it in the Tatra factory museum store though).
