Talk:Tavistock Square

Latest comment: 8 years ago by Verbcatcher in topic Buildings section last line

"The square is also directly above the spot where the Piccadilly Line underground train exploded"

edit

How can this be?

Take a look at the map http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Piccadilly_Line.svg and http://maps.google.com/maps?t=h&ie=UTF8&om=1&ll=51.525166,-0.12188&spn=0.017302,0.025363

The line would need to make a wide curve to the west reach this square.

I am deleting this. Ccwelt 11:02, 12 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Gandhi's statue

edit

Gandhi's statue stands in Tavistock Square. It is ironic the man who advocated peace, harmony and non-violence, should be witness to the terrible July bombings. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.168.218.68 (talk) 22:38, 14 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

This page needs to be updated with the recent permanent memorial to the victims of the Tavistock square London bus bombings.

edit

The page mentions that a permanent memorial has been planned, but now that this has actually happened last week, I suppose such details should be added?

Buildings section last line

edit

The last line of #3 Buildings, "On the BMA building is that once lived in Tavistock House on the site." doesn't make sense. Mcljlm (talk) 10:02, 21 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

This used to read "On the BMA building is a blue plaque commemorating that Charles Dickens once lived in Tavistock House on the site." This is covered in the first bullet point, so I have deleted the garbled text. Verbcatcher (talk) 00:27, 22 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
