Talk:Taxis Castle (Trugenhofen)

After the armistice in Europe at the end of WW II, Schloss Taxis and large lower buildings on the grounds were used as a barracks by allied troops waiting to be sent home

edit

At the time, a monk in a monastery an hour or so away from Schloss Taxis, fluent in English, was identified to the Americans as the owner of Schloss Taxis. Perhaps this was Prince Max Emanuel of Thurn and Taxis known as Father Emmeram (German: Pater Emmeram), a German Benedictine monk.
