What is the distribution?

edit

What is the distribution of the whptail lizards? A distribution map would be nice to have in the article. Are they able to tolerate cold winters like the wall lizards? Has there been any range expansion due to warming climate or introductions? I've seen them being sold in pet stores before (at least that is what the tag said they were), any info on that? Thanks

Redirecting

edit

Anyone with a tad of energy might consider redirecting the mis-named Cnemidophorus to Aspidoscelis. It is apparent that the work done by Reeder et al. 2002, will stick and we should acount for this work. I will try to focus on this however it is a large undertaking and I am unsure of how to redirect a link to a current page without changing the text. -DanielJL

Whiptail Lizard Gender

edit

I had heard somewhere from a fairly reliable source that all Whiptail Lizards are all the same gender. Can someone pitch in and cross reference this???

I have also heard this in a number of places, including Animal Planet. Apparently, all Whiptails are female and stimulate egg laying by mounting another and stimulating the sexual organs. This means all the young are essentially clones of the mother, since two different samples of DNA never met. I would also like to hear for sure whether this is true or not.
