Pronunciation of his name

Does he really say it "tie-tor"? My guess, knowing a little Icelandic, would be that it's more like "tay-tor".

Faroese and Icelandic are two distinct languages and the pronounciation of the "ei" composition is different in the two languages. It is true that in Icelandic it would be something like "tay-tor" (first part rhymes with "day"), but in Faroese it is something like "tie-tor" (first part rhymes with "die". Put referemce links HERE

I only came through to check a link to another musician, but did a little cleanup including moving these links here. The ones that are videos of him performing do not have a place in the arricle. The exception is a video interview. Thus I didn't keep a couple of the linksl I don't have the time to check over the links I put here, so please evaluate whether they belong anywhere before trying to use them. Copyright problems

I've reverted the article to the version of 22:49, 3 July 2008 as the edits after this by Susanp11 (from [1]) and Debaser08 (from [2]) introduced copyright violations. As those edits effected most of the article I think the whole article becomes suspect hence reverting to this version seems the best way to deal with it. It still looks like this article is taken in large part from this blog. There is no indication in that link that it was taken from the wiki page, it appears that the wiki page is only a slight rewording of that blog.--RadioFan (talk) 17:00, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

Think this one is a reverse copyvio. Firstly the blogged is dated 12/09/2007 where as much as the content was on wikipedia as early as 2005. Of course both us and the blog may have copied it from somewhere else but it would appear the text grew organically on wikipedia (e.g. [3] and [4]) so I'm pretty confident that they've copied us rather than the other way round in this instance. Hi. An article is only eligible for speedy deletion for copyright concerns if there are no clean versions in history. This is seldom going to be the case with an article with a history like this one, although I note to my dismay that even the earliest edit was a copyright problem, as a very close paraphrase of [5] (they postdate the creation of the article, but there's no doubt it's the source of the quote used in the foundational edit as MTV is credited. Presumably it was placed elsewhere first).

In this case, we have no reason to doubt the publication date and signs of natural evolution here. This is what the article looked like in November 2007, weeks before its publication on that site.

Let's look at their sentence "Teitur (born Teitur Lassen 1977 in Hoyvík) started out as lead singer in the Faroese band Mark No Limits but after having quickly gained a reputation at home, left the Faroe Islands for Copenhagen at the age of 17 to pursue a solo career."

In our article at the time, we had, "After quickly gaining a reputation at home, Teitur left the Faroe Islands for Copenhagen at 17, finding both his voice and a succession of helping hands all over Europe and North America" The seeds of this enter our article in September 2005: "Teitur left the Faroe Islands at 17, finding both his voice and a succession of helping hands all over Europe and North America." (Note: this was not copied from this site, either, as it reflects changes made days later here). In this edit, we see it evolve to the following: "Teitur left the Faroe Islands for Copenhagen at 17, finding both his voice and a succession of helping hands all over Europe and North America." If they copied it from the suspected source, they would have had to have altered it to become closer to the source after its placement...which is unlikely. It's more likely that the blog author based his account on Wikipedia.

At this point, if you suspect a copyvio, {{cv-unsure}} is probably the way to go. If you find a source, {{copyvio}} is probably the best bet or even {{copy-paste}}. --Moonriddengirl ^(talk) 23:56, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
