Requested move
edit- The following discussion is an archived debate of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the debate was no move, as the request is old and forgotten. Please take to WP:RM. Patstuarttalk|edits 00:32, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
Electronic Numbering → ? – Title is inaccurate, it should be determined which title is correct so it can be moved. The most likely candidate is blocked by a redirect page created when it was moved, then for some reason moved back again.

Support
editI have felt for a long time that the term "electronic number" is misleading and have first-hand experience explaining to someone how ENUM is related to VoIP, but not required to make VoIP work simply because of this incorrect terminology. WirelessMike 05:02, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
Oppose
edit- Short for 'enumerated' which can be set types in multiple programming languages.

Grammar
edit- I'm really not sure where this should be noted, but the word "biunivocally" is not in the dictionary. Humorously enough, "univocal" is in the dictionary, and the definition from Meriam Webster: "1 : having one meaning only, 2 : UNAMBIGUOUS".

Example of ENUM lookup
editI recently found that SIP Broker was an orphaned article. Therefore, I added some links such as one in this article at the end of this sentence:
- The caller uses the telephone to dial the number of another subscriber, which leads to an ENUM lookup (such as is provided by SIP Broker).
This was identified as me spamming and reverted.
Do any think an example of ENUM mapping belongs in this article and if so, how should it best be added?

- The revert has been self reverted, the link to SIP Broker has been restored, so it appears this issue is closed. WilliamKF (talk) 23:54, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
Broken link
editThe external link "Enum base" (www.enum.org) seems to point to a commercial page which has nothing to do at all with ENUM. Please confirm and fix, or delete this link. -aw- (talk) 16:19, 27 December 2015 (UTC)
"Regular expression" example incomplete
editThe "Regular expression" example given in section "System details" implies that an implementation of a flexible mapping ("can be used by a telephone company to easily assign addresses to all of its clients") from E.164 to SIP URI by means of using regexp sub-expressions on the right-hand side of a suitable NAPTR record was given within the article. However, this is not the case.
It would be useful if such an example was actually given in the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RalfBergs (talk • contribs) 14:09, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
