Requested move (2008)

The following discussion is an archived discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the discussion was to move the article. Who thinks we should add Xplornet to the entry? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.45.70.246 (talk) 19:13, 24 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Requested move

edit

Seeing as Telesat Canada and Loral Skynet have been merged into Telesat (see telesat.com) I believe it would be appropriate to merge these pages, with information about the new combined fleet. It can be discussed whether the previous pages should contionue to exist or become redirects; IMHO they should be rewritten as "history of".HalifaxRage (talk) 00:29, 3 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Clean-up

edit

Telesat no longer has a fiber optic network, Telesat abandoned Loral Skynets' fiber network after the merger. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.111.115.132 (talk) 06:54, 4 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

What should I do?

Don't panic; a discussion will now take place over on Commons about whether to remove the file. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion, although please review Commons guidelines before doing so.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)

TeleSAT

edit

Noticed that "TeleSAT" was on the Most Wanted Articles page (with 73 links) - is it any different than this page? Dberard (talk) 02:09, 15 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

more/clearer history please

edit

"On October 5, 2007 Loral Space & Communications Inc. and the Public Pension Investment Board of Canada received the final regulatory approval necessary to complete the acquisition of Telesat from BCE Inc. for CAD $3.25 billion."

As this is the first information about an acquisition that appears on the page, it seems to indicate that BCE started Telesat. If that is the case, it should be explicitly stated, along with BCE's reasons for creating Telesat. If this is not the case (and from what I know, this is indeed not the case) when did BCE acquire Telesat and for how much?

Is it correct to still refer to Telesat as a Canadian company when the controlling interest is held by an American Lockheed spinoff?
