This article contains an odd mix of past, present and future tenses. I will try to tidy it up. Biscuittin (talk) 10:53, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
Don't know how to be part of a discussion, so just edit this. someone will tell me, I'm sure. In the 1980's TTX was seen by a few major computer companies as the merge of TLX and Text-Processing. Some TTX terminals were upgraded typewriters (Olivetti, Siemens), some adapted text-processors (Philips). A lot of time and money was spent in this development, but in the end Telefax won the game, being not only cheaper, but even having the advantage of a (legally acceptable) paper-copy. Coming from telex this was very important at that time. You may wonder the value of an electronic mail :-) I worked on the technical side of TTX with Philips in the Netherlands at that time.
