Wasn't it the case that Temptation was the original name of Sale of the Century? - Richardcavell 03:04, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
- No. See Sale of the Century for the story. Lambertman 12:49, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
Trivia
editFame Game wrong answer
editFrom the Trivia section: On the November 1, 2005 episode of the show, Phillips began a Fame Game question, as per usual, with "Who am I?..." A contestant immediately buzzed in and answered "Ed Phillips". The contestant went on to lose the match by 5 dollars.
I might be wrong, but I thought that getting the Fame Game questions wrong (or correct) did not directly affect the score. --DavidMarsh 00:24, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
- It doesn't, except for the $10/$15/$25 they could dget off the board. It's pretty much an anecdotal reference. Lambertman 00:28, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
Harry and Lainie
editI can't find any reference about an "off-stage" incident, but this article might be worth referencing: http://www.ebroadcast.com.au/enews/Nine_Network_-_Temptation_Gets_Nasty_181006.html I've seen a Herald Sun news article mentioned as well, but can't find it online. --DavidMarsh 07:35, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- Looks like this bit has been removed (I agree with it's removal btw, as per http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons#Remove_unsourced_or_poorly_sourced_controversial_material), but is it worth having a "controversies" section? A Current Affair has run a few stories on this, and even conducted a phone poll. Maybe it can be done without negativity to the people involved? Are there other incidents that have caused problems with the results (such as the audience yelling answers?) --DavidMarsh 11:16, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Celebrity/special episodes
editSurely there is far too much information about these episodes. Certainly name the winner of the Quizmaster series, but there is no need for six paragraphs of details. Furthermore, I see no reason to include details of the winner of every celebrity/sport/special series - or even to mention them. Seriously, who looks at a list of Temptation grand champions, then remotely cares who won the smartest comedian competition? The whole section could be replaced by one paragraph about Quizmaster, and one paragraph about all of the rest.Aspirex 11:40, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
No episode
editThere was no episode on Friday 23 November 2007 due to a one hour election edition of A Current Affair [1] -- Ianblair23 (talk) 03:39, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
Temptation in 2008?
editThere is somebody out there that keeps changing the dates of presenters on this page. They insist that the show was around in Australia in 2008 (and I have previously seen that the show was axede in December 2007?). Temptation was never ever ever on the air in 2008!!! Temptation fans watched in horror that the quiz show all lost it to Seven in the 5.30-7pm timeslot. I will change these dates back unless I have evidence that prooves me wrong (which I doubt!) --Darijoe 06:47, 16 April 2006 (UTC) You are correct that no episodes were ever aired in 2008, but it has now become apparent that at least the last of these episodes were aired until last December when it was replaced by Two And A Half Men.
According to http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2008/06/end-of-round-for-temptation.html it will cease production for the immediate future, but Nine still has unaired new epsiodes--aafuss 22:47, 4 June 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aafuss (talk • contribs)
