editRegarding the "Inappropriate tone" message: the information is fine, and the piece is nicely written. However, it's written too much like a story, with spoken quotes and details that are unlikely to be verifiable. Because I'm not an expert here, I won't muck up the entry by cutting things out, but it would help if somebody could make it more encyclopedic. Jlg4104 (talk) 16:32, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
No need to apologise. The piece is very poorly written, so much so that anyone who didn't know the story would have great difficulty figuring out what happened. I think much of the damage was done by an anonymous editor who added a great deal of information to expand the story, but failed to integrate it properly into what was already there. Thus the story lurches around with people suddenly popping up, events suddenly taking place without rhyme or reason, etc. He Jin and Yang Shou emerge at the very beginning without giving us the slightest idea who they are. It is frankly a mess. I tried to fix it, but since I don't actually know the story it's hard to do a good job. At least I've managed to get rid of some of the less felicitous stylistic elements. I'd like to point out that the single reference for this article is "Three Kingdoms: A Historical Novel: Volume I. Seriously, when in the hell did books that proclaim themselves as fiction in their own titles become acceptable source material? This article seems like the poster child for speedy deletion.KVND 14:26, 30 March 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by KVND (talk • contribs)
- The novel is just an (albeit awesomely) fictionalized and expanded version of the Sanguozhi - why not just find the corresponding passage and swap out the citation? The information that it "refers to" is correct, anyway. P.S. I'd do it but I'm sinking my teeth into the featured Three Kingdoms page translation and will be some time in finishing it.
