Talk:Teresa A. Sullivan

No need to include entire resignation letter

edit

Two arguments with the article as currently on the page:

  1. The inclusion of the resignation letter in the lede paragraph makes it hard for the casual reader to get a good overview of Dr. Sullivan's career, which is the subject of the article.
  2. Pretty sure that including the whole letter is a potential copyright violation.

I'm going to restructure the article to move the resignation section out of the lede (other than a mention of it) and just to excerpt the resignation letter. -Tjarrett (talk) 00:51, 11 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Letter from Paul Tudor Jones

edit

An unregistered editor is insisting that this article mention that Paul Tudor Jones supported Sullivan's resignation by writing an editorial in The Daily Progress. However, although he or she appears to be willing to edit war about this he or she hasn't provided any reasons why this factoid should be including in this article. Without such support, it seems to be an odd and unnecessary inclusion. Thoughts? ElKevbo (talk) 19:35, 19 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Abject Incompetence

edit

Why doesn't this article make any mention of Sullivan's knee-jerk action to punish all fraternity and sorority members at UVA on the basis of a false rape accusation? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:9:7E00:9F4:106D:3F16:4871:4D17 (talk) 01:53, 15 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

There perhaps should be a section about it, but the tone should not be about "Abject Incompetence". Such a section should link to A Rape on Campus, Wikipedia's article on the Rolling Stone's retracted article that had the false rape accusation. This article at Fortune magazine would be a good source as it contains interviews with Sullivan. Attempts to include inflammatory, finger-pointing, editorializing additions like this will be removed.
