Doubtful definition of Mardicas

I question the statement that "Mardicas, meant "People of the Sea", because the word is so similar to the Malay word merdeka, which means "free, independent". Bahra

a sandbar near the mouth of the Maragondon river (known as the Bahra de Maragondon)

The Spanish for sandbar is barra, so I guess Bahra is either a typo or a local adaptation of the Spanish word. Should it be corrected? --Error (talk) 19:20, 6 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
