Error in the fragment C legend

edit

I believe there is a mistake in the legend of the C fragment picture. The C fragment is part of the heavy chain, not the light one. It is important as it is the heavy chain that is responsible for binding and retrograde transport of the protein, the light chain has a proteolytic role. First time I edit something so I'm sorry if I am writing this comment at the wrong place. Good day.

Type D botulinum toxin the deadliest?

edit

While I understand the reference to that sentence says so, if you follow the botulinum toxin internal wikipedia link it is clear that the type D is the weakest...

The photo does not seem to describe how this toxin works at all. It only shows some molecule entering an axon then leaving o_O — Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.185.72.3 (talk) 15:15, 24 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Errors in 'Evolution' section

edit

The section on evolution contains logical errors and poor use of biological terms. The link between the toxin and aerobic vs. anaerobic respiration is not clear. The sentence "This theory is supported by the fact that tetanus bacteria use a "pump and dump" strategy by secreting the toxin inside a plasmid membrane then exocysing the plasmid vacuole into target tissue." > Plasmids are relative small pieces of circular DNA and do not contain membranes, let alone a vacuole. The verb 'exocysing' is not a word with any biological meaning. This section should be thoroughly revised or removed. 2A02:A460:6706:1:8D01:48BE:40BB:7943 (talk) 11:21, 14 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

I'm leaning in favor of removal, myself, especially given that I cannot find any precedent for an 'Evolution' section within any other page describing a biotoxin.
Unless I hear otherwise (or someone else does so first,) I'll do that within the week. Infrequentlyattending (talk) 18:26, 29 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
