Article updates
editThis article needs updating to reflect UT's fellow conference members, especially with TCU in the Big 12 now. --JoBrLa (talk) 19:05, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
Need pictures of coaches and players (and possibly old team pictures)
editDoes anyone have or know how to obtain permissible photos for coaches and players? I've listed my estimation of the photos we need the most (subject to debate, of course), and I've bolded the ones that I think are the very most important.
Coach photos: L. Theo Bellmont, Fred Walker, Ed Olle, Jack Gray (as coach), H.C. "Bully" Gilstrap, Harold Bradley, Leon Black, Abe Lemons
Player photos: Clyde Littlefield, Jack Gray (as player), Slater Martin (in Texas attire), John Hargis, Raymond Downs, Jay Arnette, Alberto Almanza, Jim Krivacs, Ron Baxter, LaSalle Thompson, Travis Mays, Joey Wright, Lance Blanks, Chris Mihm (in Texas attire), T.J. Ford (in Texas attire), LaMarcus Aldridge (in Texas attire).
Several players listed above have photos on Wikipedia, but, as noted, no photos are currently available for these players wearing UT attire.
Any team pictures, especially for UT's most notable/accomplished teams, would also be great. 32.212.45.180 (talk) 15:46, 19 April 2015 (UTC)
Proposed merge with Texas Longhorns men's basketball records
editFails WP:NOTSTATS. It's only supported by 3 references and no inline citations. Definitely should not be a stand-alone article. Corkythehornetfan 21:59, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
- This other article shouldn't be an independent one either, in that case. The text is nothing more than an out-of-date version of the main article's lead, so it doesn't seem that feature would be adequate to distinguish it from this one. João Do Rio (talk) 22:42, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
- I agree on both of those articles (and any other team with a similar article) either being heavily pared down and merged back to the original, or deleted outright. As was originally said, they fail WP:NOTSTATS. I doubt that Wikipedia is the place to pretty much copy half of a teams media guide when most of those records are rarely mentioned independent of the source. SCMatt33 (talk) 22:56, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
- I agree that the UNC article should be pared/merged or outright deleted as well, but citing that is merely WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. Any stats-only article for basketball, football, or other sport should be nominated for deletion; per SCMatt33, none of them would satisfy WP:GNG. Jrcla2 (talk) 04:09, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
- No, mentioning – not "citing" – the other article is not WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS, because I'm not citing the other article's existence as a reason to retain this one. I noted the article in case someone wanted to explain how it satisfies standards that this one does not, if that were in fact the case (and I doubt that it is), with the idea that if the other article did meet standards for a stand-alone article, then the one in question could be fairly easily modified to meet them as well. If that's not the case, then I certainly am not going to argue for keeping it. To the extent that this can be construed as WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS, it's the form that essay describes as legitimate. This article has (rightly) been protected following vandalism today, but there are still some residual problems left behind. Please compare the last good version with the current one here. - 2A00:23C7:2B86:9800:A82F:4E7D:A589:6F9D (talk) 00:35, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
- Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Please outline what vandalism remains. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 13:14, 22 February 2022 (UTC)

Over-capitalization
editI did a bunch of case fixing, but when I got to the section Texas Longhorns men's basketball#Records I bogged down. Every word is capped for no apparent reason. Anyone want to help fix? Dicklyon (talk) 02:55, 22 May 2022 (UTC)
