Debris after crossing the Roche limit

edit
Relatively soon after, the overlapping debris will enter into Despina's orbit

Interesting, but is it true? Why would this happen, since Despina's orbit is about 2000 km outide of Thalassa's? Are impacts between the fragments expected to be sufficiently energetic to shift the orbits of a significant portion ub by this amount? Deuar 16:14, 17 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Image Correction

edit

I posted this here and at Naiad. I saw the image at NASA and contacted them, and they (Stphen Edberg) sent me an email reply with " IAU Name Discovery

III Naiad S/1989 N6 IV Thalassa S/1989 N5 V Despina S/1989 N3 "

They intend to fix it, and when the do the image here should be updated. TeigeRyan (talk) 02:51, 15 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
