The photo of a snake eating a toad is certainly not Thamnophis sauritus - even the author states it's a sirtalis. While it's a nice photo, it doesn't belong on the page. - ADM — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.247.171.225 (talk) 04:56, 3 July 2011 (UTC)
Needs serious wikification
editThis article looks nothing like a Wikipedia article. It looks like some kind of book. Can anyone care to fix this article up? --72.197.35.238 (talk) 16:15, 4 June 2011 (UTC)

- While this is an old notation, I took a look at the online sources and found that both were obsolete. The other citations are incomplete, so I could not readily verify the source material. I have bookmarked this page for further work. WriterWithNoName (talk) 16:18, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
venom?
editI recently was bitten by one and want to make sure they are not venomous. Could someone add the information?74.105.16.42 (talk) 19:52, 20 April 2013 (UTC)
Territory
editI'm familiar with the common garter snakes in the region, however, I've come across two Thamnophis sauritus in the last couple of weeks in Cook County IL., just South and West of Lake Michigan. According to source material I found, this snake is not common to the region. Both specimens were black with vibrant gold stripes. One was well over 18" while the other was under 12" and located about two miles apart. Comments? WriterWithNoName (talk) 16:27, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
