Does this thing even exist?

edit

Does this spider even exist? Can't we find some credible sources for this article? It seems a bit too uncredible for Wikipedia. Thanks. brickdude^_^ 12:46, 25 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanatos flavidusThanatus flavidus — The spider genus is thanatus, not thanatos. I can't say whether the spider itself exists or not, but it seems like a good reason to MOVE this article to Thanatus flavidus and REDIRECT Thanatos flavidus to it, instead of the other way around as it currently is. (I'd have moved it myself, but there's that existing redirect in the way.)

  • The World Spider Catalog at the American Museum of Natural History attributes thanatus flavidus to "Simon, E., 1875a. Insektuto, Konchuaikokai 26: 14-18."
  • There's a redlink for thanatus flavidus at WikiSpecies, but at least it's listed.
  • It's also possible to dig through several hits in a search engine if it's spelled correctly, although admittedly, I haven't done that.

And I should add that List of Philodromidae species on this web site also refers to thanatus flavidus, not thanatos flavidus. --Unready (talk) 22:00, 21 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
