Ultra-chintzy? Perhaps...
editI well recall this peculiar little cartoon, and was fascinated by it. I agree with Hal Erickson that it was “[u]ltra-chintzy both in concept and execution…” But that’s what makes it such fine retro viewing.
As far as storytelling goes, I find it superior to the [Hanna Barbera] productions [Ruff and Reddy] and [Huckleberry Hound]; far more imaginative and whimsical, and not cynical. And not an take-off on Jimmy Durante or Jackie Gleason (Ralph Cramden and The Honeymooners).
