editSince I created this article in 2006, there have been numerous edits, some of which appear to originate from TVO staff. I've begun removing some of the promotional text, and I've also removed unsourced content, such as quotations attributed to Paikin. Those from TVO editing this article, please be aware of Wikipedia's conflict of interest guideline. Mindmatrix 21:30, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
- Hello. I work at TVO. There is a logo that can be included with this page, available at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:The_Agenda_with_Steve_Paikin.svg Thanks. Earlbak (talk) 18:18, 15 February 2023 (UTC)

- "We give people what they tell us they want: more intelligent analysis, and more robust, thought-provoking debate and discussion among newsmakers and experts," Paikin says.
Steve Paiken's/ TVO's one person agenda
edit
From studio 2 the program was stripped of Paula Todd. It was later striped of any extra information pieces from the likes of alan Gregg. Its a one man show of Steve Paikin who also produces the show. It was so unbalanced when it came to middle east news for sooooo many years in regards to the host...because no one knew that Paikin came from a Jewish household. Its only recently (summer 2013 I think) when Stevie went on his annual teachers 3 month holiday that a south Asian woman was brought in. I think she now hosts the odd segments. This is when that population of the GTA which makes up most of the population of Ontario is probably close to 50% non white. I have wondered again and again wondered and suspected if Steve Paiken was Jewish or came from a Jewish household. I gave the Canadian media word the benefit of the doubt after doing a search and it brought up nothing. I though it could be a common Eastern European last name. As is written now written in Steve Paikin's page in Wikipedia, he is in fact Jewish. Steve Paikin has done many news program discussion pieces on the on the middle east and some Israeli Palestinian conflict yet he comes from a Jewish Background. This makes for very unbalanced discussions. I have seen discussions where he had Janice Stein (brilliant U of T Academic but with Jewish roots, she is balanced though), but then they had another Jewish professor from U of T, discussing middle east politics. So 3 people with Jewish roots discussing Middle east politics. Thank you TVO for the unbalanced views. It should be noted that Steve Paikin banks close to $250, 000 yearly. Probably more than the Mayor of Canada's largest city ...Toronto. http://www.jewishtribune.ca/news/canada/2014/01/28/prominent-community-members-awarded-order-of-ontario — Preceding unsigned comment added by Starbwoy (talk • contribs) 15:29, 1 November 2014 (UTC)
Yes his background is important the end product if it has to do with the middle east. If the same person is the producer, writer, booking the guests and also the host and moderator, then you bet its important. It becomes very unbalanced. why because in Ontario we think we are getting a balanced or expect a balanced view when it comes to the the middle east as we are not in the United Stated and TVO is a public Broadcaster. No makes close to $279, 000, Much more than the mayor of toronto. I quickly removed the information on his son Zach Paikin because it was mixed up with ultra right wing zionist Jesse Paikin. this tells up how quick you are to edit without properly reading. Talking pages are for talking...find yourself constructive to get you triger happy edit finger on.Starbwoy (talk) 16:56, 1 November 2014 (UTC) |
