The Amazing Race 4 was nominated as a Media and drama good article, but it did not meet the good article criteria at the time (August 12, 2023, reviewed version). There are suggestions on the review page for improving the article. If you can improve it, please do; it may then be renominated. |

Finish Line refilming?
editSo this information got editing into the Results, but upon looking into the source that was attached, it led nowhere and looked fake as well (it's just a forum post with no additional references). As a precaution, I'll remove it from the page now, but add it here in case further investigation digs up something else.
- Kelly & Jon initially were declared having won The Amazing Race when it was initially filmed in February 2003, however it was later discovered before the finale aired that Kelly had broken a scarcely known verbal abusive language rule which carries a 15 minute penalty. The finish in Phoenix was reshot with the 15 minute penalty applied to her and Jon. Since Reichen & Chip were less than 15 minutes behind Kelly & Jon before the penalty was applied they were declared the winners of The Amazing Race 4. "'Kelly and Jon won TAR4'". Drudgereport. September 2003. Retrieved March 19, 2019.
- Very good call. A forum post not backed up by any other source for such a contentious claim would not be permitted. --Masem (t) 02:28, 5 April 2019 (UTC)

Hello there! Thank you for nominating this article to GA. Unfortunately, I will have to quickfail this article because it is a long way from meeting the good article criteria. Here are some recommendations to make the article better:
- The lead is way too short. Per WP:LEAD, a lead should be an introduction and summary of the article. While the lead does say what this article is about, it doesn't really summarize the full article. You can include things like some of the locations, the prize money, etc.
- For the Production section:
- some background information about the show would be good here.
- Is there more information about production, like casting? Currently the section is a bit slim
- Awards section should go to Reception.
- For the Race summary section, it should be a summary of what happens on screen that is not in bulleted list form. See WP:CRUFT.
- For the Reception section:
- The section can be further expanded with more reviews, like Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic, and reviews from reliable sources.
- It's not necessary to make a new subsection on critical reception if that's the only subsection.
- The wrong Linda Holmes is linked.
- The references need work. You should include first and last names for the authors, even if they have a Wikipedia article. Some sources are dead, and I am also questioning the reliability of some of the sources (like Reality TV World, Straight From The A, Game Show Newsnet). If you need reliable sources, feel free to check WP:RSP.
I noticed that you nominated 3 other articles that are seasons of The Amazing Race, unfortunately, those articles also have the same problems as this, so I will be quickfailing them, too. If you need help, I recommend utilizing WP:Peer review and referencing other Good Articles of similar subjects, like Survivor: Cook Islands. I also see that the article would need some copyediting so that it's clearer; you can ask the Guild of Copy Editors. And if you have questions, the WP:Teahouse is welcome to help you. Cheers!
