Tuition info
editIt's been removed again. The entry gave specific information, then said "up to date info can be obtained...", which suggests the author realised the figures quoted were out of date.
Mission Statement - That can't be right??
edit"an American education of moderate quality"?? "A handful of students may be challenged to achieve their full potential, while others just get by"??
I happen to be an ASL alum (only attended for a year and a half), but that can't possibly be the real mission statement? Page is protected, but can someone either provide a source or delete?
- Yeah, that was modified by a vandalism-only account. That happens. Fixed. Weregerbil 07:54, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
Protection?
editwhy does this article really need any protection? It's not like this is a hugely popular article. Protection should only be used when it really needs to be.
- I agree; protection of this page is unncecessary when it is entirely possible to deal with cases of vandalism on an individual level. --Hansh 23:38, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
i also agree and as an anumli would like to edit the page but am currently unable! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nizoral (talk • contribs) 14:42, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Merge Dr. William C. Mules?
editif you go to the Dr. William C. Mules page, you will see that it has been suggested that the page be merged with the ASL page. I would agree with this. Dr. Mules does not deserve an entire article to himself. Also on his page, there is a notice that he is not a notable enough person to have an entire article. I would agree with this. Unless there are objections, I think I will soon merge Dr. Mules' article into a subsection on heads of school in this article. -- Xakaxunknownx 29 July 2007
Deleted Real Mission Statement?
editRecently, Crimethinker removed the school's mission statement from the page. Isn't it fair use to put the mission statement of the school on wikipedia? -- Xakaxunknownx 12 August 2007
Fair use rationale for Image:Eagle bobby.jpg
editImage:Eagle bobby.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Statement of why the school is called this
editThere is nothing in this page of why the school is called it, does it use the US curriculum or is it just a name or what? Cheers Ben, --Benpaul12 (talk) 12:10, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
Not an advert
editI have removed the 'How to apply' section. It is not encyclopedic and belongs in a recruitment brochure. APW (talk) 08:20, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
Trivia?
editThe wikiproject schools site suggests including some trivia (all well cited) on this page. Does anyone have something they'd like to contribute?
Perhaps the trivia interspersed throughout this page could be moved to a trivia section? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.204.47.100 (talk) 09:55, 1 June 2011 (UTC) Added a trivia section. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Peternz (talk • contribs) 09:43, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
Number of students in first class
editAn edit was made that changed "13 students" in the first class to "9 students". The "13" figure comes from the school's website, and is cited. As a member of the ASL community myself I am aware there has been some question in the past as to the number of students in the beginning--there is a famous photo with 9 students in it, but even students in that photo have confirmed some were missing. The school lists 13 in all their related publications. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.204.47.100 (talk) 14:45, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
Redundant hyperlink
editRequesting topic "Stephen Eckard" redirects here. Fine. But in sentence 1 under "History", "Stephen Eckard" is hyperlinked, wrongly telling the reader it will take him or her to a place other than the present article, i.e. a separate article on him. But all clicking on it does is refresh the current page. Remove the hyperlink.
