- ... that sci-fi video game The Anacrusis is named for the musical term?
- Source: GameSpot
- ALT1: ... that video game The Anacrusis is named for the musical term, the players caught up in an alien invasion "in the beats before [it] turns to soldiers, pilots, and space fighters"? Source: GameSpot
- ALT2: ... that The Anacrusis was the debut video game by Stray Bombay, a studio co-founded by Left 4 Dead writer Chet Faliszek? Source: IGN

- Comment: The first hook was chosen because the game has an interesting name which readers may not be familiar with. ALT1 is a longer version with more context, but maybe clunky/long. ALT2 goes a different route, Left 4 Dead is highly regarded and popular (and the subject is widely noted to be similar), so this could draw readers in.

Overall: Article created on 7 September, and is well beyond the required minimum length. Earwig reveals no copyvio, and I didn't spot any instances of overly WP:Close paraphrasing, though the use of verbatim quotes borders on excessive. ALT0 is interesting and properly cited, ALT1 is a less interesting version of ALT0, and I did not find ALT2 interesting. QPQ has been provided. A few comments about the content:
The game is set on board a retrofuturistic space station during an alien incursion.
– I don't find any mention of retrofuturism in the sources cited here? The Director 2.0 adjusts enemy placements to create moments of downtime in between moments of intensity, with aim to make every team feel like "they're at the cusp of skill".
– this needs copyediting for clarity; I had to read the source to understand what was meant by the second half, and it doesn't really connect to the first half of the sentence. I don't think "cusp of skill" is a readily-understood established phrase, so it would probably be better to rephrase this in your own words. When there are fewer than four-players, bots will act as a substitute.
– I don't find this in the cited sources?with the intention to create co-operative video games
– the source says "we're forming a new studio in Seattle that is itself co-operative", which would seem to refer to the studio itself rather than the games.Faliszek had previously worked on the Left 4 Dead series as a writer and co-lead.
– the source only uses "co-lead" in the subhead, which is not a reliable source per WP:HEADLINE.

- Thanks for the in-depth review.
- Multiple sources mention retrofuturism. The gameplay section is not as closely sourced as the others, because like plot summaries, I believe it implicit that the game itself is the primary source. The Edge magazine mentions retrofuturism in the first line of its review, this is cited when retrofuturism is mentioned in the reception section. Other sources used mention it too. [1][2]
- Changed the idiosyncratic "cusp of skill" to "operating at the limits of their capability".
- Both the patch notes referenced at the end of the gameplay section mention bots. This can also be sourced to the game itself, where it is basic functionality.
- The studio itself is a co-op, and the source is implicit, rather than explicit about making co-op games. I've added an RPS source to clarify.
- The Game Developer article notes Faliszek was "Left 4 Dead’s project lead on the Valve side", but there is also the Turtle Rock Studios side to the development. I think co-lead is an accurate description of that setup.
- Thanks for the in-depth review.
