The Appetite For Construction tour was significant in Switchfoot's, Relient K's, and Ruth's touring histories, as it was a tour to benefit a cause the bands believed in. This was the first time the bands donated portions of the proceeds from ticket sales to a good cause, Habitat For Humanity.
Switchfoot and Relient K frontment, Jon Foreman and Matt Thiessen respectively, collaborated to write a song for the tour as well, called "Rebuild." It was released with an option to download for free or donate money or time to Habitat.
