Using the definte article in this case goes against the Wikipedia Manual of Style. It is unnecessary for the purposes of Wikipedia and will only cause headaches in categorization. Yes, in speech one always says "The Beaufort Gazette", just like one says "The ***" for virtually every other newspaper.
