section needed about controversey over rules and requirements to win
editMany people feel the formula used to determine the winner is flawed and unfair and that should be mentioned in the article. Right now they are still going by the biggest weight loss PERCENTAGE,which is clearly a flawed method to use: that because if you take too people of the same height and body type and both of their loweset possible healthy body weights are say,175 pounds. If one of them starts the competition at 300 pounds and the other at 400 pounds, the one at 400 pounds as a huge advantage over the other. That because If the 400 pound man loses 50 percent of his weight then he will still weigh 200 pounds, which is still 25 pounds overweight and chubby. For the 300 pound man to lose 50 percent of his weight he would have to get down to a dangerously low, anorexic state of weighing 150 pounds,which would be 25 pounds underweight, which is many many times more difficult and dangerous than the man going from 400 to 200.Thus they need to use a new formula that includes bmi to determine the winner. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.224.121.212 (talk) 17:50, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
