The Matter of Seggri

edit

i had summarized (fairly badly, i'll admit) the matter of seggri as:

Two women who are in love, but of the same moiety, and thus unable decide to enter into a marriage, decide to deceive the other parties to a marriage by disguising one of the women as a man. Complex and beautiful story.

and someone (non-registered) deleted mine and substituted something much more bland, but certainly safer:

The discovery, exploration, and ultimate alteration of a planet characterised by extreme gender segregation.

i would prefer to integrate our two versions, rather than just having mine blown away -- assuming mine is not outright wrong. anyone disagree? Openlander 20:32, 28 August 2006 (UTC) That's not what "The Matter of Seggri" is about, though. It's the one where the men live in castles and the women live in towns and they only meet each other in whorehouses, but the men rebel. I think the one you're thinking of is "Mountain Ways."Reply

OMG! you are so right! thank you. silly me. i will put it there. Openlander 04:19, 22 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Mountain Ways

edit

The two main characters are not of the same moiety. Sex with the same moiety ? That is a taboo they do not cross. The problem was that there were two evening women and no evening man. I'll try to rewrite. -- Beardo 15:07, 18 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Just corrected the article to show this. For reference, Shahes is Morning, while Enno (Akal) and Temly are Evening; Enno pretends to be a man because they can't find a suitable Evening man to make the sedoretu. Whichwould 17:52, 5 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
