Literary Allusions section

I've been attempting to improve this article over the past few days, and have now pretty well finished apart from the Literary Allusions section, which I have not really touched. While the list may well be accurate, and indeed interesting, it appears to be original literary criticism. I have not been able to locate any reliable source for the list as a whole, nor indeed for the individual items within it. Even if someone were to spend time going through the novel and identifying each of the allusions with a specific quote and page number, it seems to me that that would still be impermissible original research. In the circumstances, I think that the section should be deleted in its entirety, but before doing that I thought it would be worth asking here for a second opinion. Sadads, do you have any thoughts? Typically I kill these kinds of sections when I do rewrites, unless they are of significant critical commentary (think anything by James Joyce ). Allusions sections tend to be WP:TRIVIA or WP:OR, and we don't really document very well, in terms of sourcing. I actually think that Wikidata could handle these better than Wikipedia can, but in any case we need them to be well referenced on either platform. Sadads (talk) 21:25, 17 October 2017 (UTC)

That being said, when I worked on Quicksilver (novel) the criticism spent a lot of time reflecting on the historical cast of characters used throughout the novel, so I opted into discussing the history and context around the plot. Sadads (talk) 21:27, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
